Dedication To Our Military And Municipal Partners

City Light & Power maintains strong partnerships with our nation’s military forces. 
Through our utility privatization (UP) contracts with the federal government, CLP owns, operates and maintains electrical distribution systems for military installations around the United States. Because we create working partnerships with many U.S. military installations, we are strongly committed to the men and women serving our country and their families. CLP supports:

CLP partners with municipalities to provide their utility solutions.
CLP is a strong believer in public-private partnerships (PPP) to provide safe and reliable electric utility services for municipal customers’ electricity needs. Our close partnerships with cities and towns started when we designed, installed and operated the first municipal street lighting system under a PPP in the United States. Since then we have been involved with large-scale utility infrastructure engineering as well as system construction, operation and maintenance, and we have worked on special projects for a number of  municipalities. CLP has a strong history of providing customer-focused, responsive and reliable utility services for our municipal customers for more than three decades.

CLP is committed to improving safety and fire protection practices.
CLP is an active member of the National Fire Protection Association, a leading information and knowledge resource for fire, electrical and related hazards. NFPA analyzes fire data and provides insights about the overall fire problem, firefighter fatalities and injuries, major fire causes, fire protection systems and related topics. NFPA sets electrical construction standards including the most recently updated 2020 National Electrical Code, provides fire protection training programs, offers professional electrical-related certifications in specialty areas including electrical safety compliance and emergency power systems, and it investigates emerging fire safety hazards and solutions in concert with global fire protection organizations.
